Special offers to clients
This page will detail special offers from time to time. These offers are all subject to our terms of appointment and may be withdrawn at our discretion.
February 2009
The current economic climate is having a noticeable impact on a great many South Africans. The effect is felt through tighter cash flow controls, a lot less disposable cash and even job losses and defaults. At the same time the legal risks that require investments in legal services remain as real as ever before so the challenge is providing for those risks in tough economic times.
One of the ways to provide for risks on a website is to have well thought out and drafted terms of use and a privacy policy. We've written about the necessity for terms of use and a privacy policy on my firm's website and if you have read any of those articles you will understand that terms of use and privacy policies are not just clever ways for lawyers to make more money (well, unless they are poorly drafted and inappropriate). They are very necessary components of a risk management process.
We are increasingly concerned that more and more of our clients lack adequate terms of use and a privacy policy and we would very much like to help address that. To this end we have a special offer to our clients. This offer is available until 28 February 2009 and here it is:
We will prepare a complete terms of use (including a privacy policy) for clients who complete a client information form (available from webtechlaw.com/terms-appointment) and pay for the terms upfront (account details in the firm's terms of appointment). The price for the first 10 people is R2 500 and for the next 10 people is R5 000. We usually charge roughly R10 000 for a complete set (that cost varies depending on client's specific requirements). Delivery is between 48 and 72 hours from receipt of the payment and client information form, depending on demand.
This offer is only available to fans ... and while you are fans, why not dip into the forums and tell me what you think I can do to improve on my services, offerings or anything else you think needs improvement about law firms (mine or otherwise).
